We attend a huge number of press launch events, acting as the photographer to tell the story of event. Working with PR and marketing teams we’re always blown away by the work that goes into these days. And the Atelier Cologne press launch in London’s Covent Garden was no different. If you get a chance to pop in, we urge you to. The place, a Maison de Parfum, is just wonderful, so well curated (the cute mini orange bike!) and the brand is really something else.
The founders, Sylvie Ganter and Christophe Cervasel, launched Atelier Cologne in 2009 and with boutiques in New York, Paris, Hong Kong and San Fran, it’s now here in London.
Ganter and Cervasel met in New York, where Sylvie was handling the perfume subsidiary for Hermès and Christophe was developing perfumes under license for several designers. Together they realised that cologne was under-represented and soon after the Atelier Cologne brand was born.
Each one of their perfumes is inspired by a story, which can be found on the back of the bottle. Take Orange Sanguine.
“It was the kind of moment you would want to revisit. Everyone was here, gathered on the terrace for breakfast, and the scent of fresh oranges was diffusing in the yellow heat. A symphony of their laughter and waves hitting the cliffs played in the air.”
This scent has top notes of blood orange from Italy, heart notes of black pepper from Madagascar and base notes of cedarwood from Texas.
A really lovely event, so colourful and happy.
