The Whisky Show London Event Photography October 2016
The UK’s finest and largest whisky festival, The Whisky Show London, brought together distillers and whisky lovers from all over the world. Old Billingsgate played host to a truly spectacular food and whisky experience. This year’s theme was Masterpieces and we went along to cover the event photography on behalf of brands Glenmorangie and Ardberg.
The Whisky Exchange Whisky Show featured some of the best masterclasses in the whisky world, offering opportunities to taste the finest whiskies available today in the company of some of the biggest names in the industry.
Each Master brought a trio of whiskies with them, all of which they helped to make or which meant something to them personally.
Bill Lumsden said he had always wanted to make a whisky ‘where you treat the barley like coffee beans’, and so he created Signet, one of his chosen whiskies, with a high proportion of roasted chocolate malt, as used in stouts and porters. He added that the entire project was supposed to be a secret, but the team found out ‘because the distillery smelled like Starbucks’. The whisky itself was a chocoholic’s dream, with rich, dark notes of mocha, honeycomb and chocolate orange.
