Thank you 2016 | You’ve been a funny old year.

Business Review 2016

We think it’s fair to say 2016 has been a funny one. Would you agree? Politically we’ve held our breath and a couple of times this year have taken time away from our desks to watch the live feed of news as it streamed in. Shocked and amazed in equal measure.

We’ve watched in horror at some events and we’re still watching now, a few days before Christmas, in utter disbelief as world events go on around us.

So from a work point of view the year has been punctuated. It’s been stop/start. It wouldn’t be right to say it’s been a wonderful year, from many view points it’s been anything but wonderful. But work goes on, life goes on and we push on through.

That said, this time of year is a time to give thanks, to reflect and we can look back and say ‘2016, Thank You’. Thank you for the work we’ve been lucky enough to do, thank you for our amazing clients, old and new. Thank you for giving us another year better than the last.

It has been a great year for Jon Bradley Photography. We’ve worked on over 175 shoots. Pretty much one every other day. On the days we’ve not been on shoots, we’ve been editing and preparing for the next job. There’s a huge amount of unpacking, downloading, recharging and repacking that goes on around here!

We started the year with our website relaunch. As anyone in charge of a website redesign will know it’s not an easy job. With over 100,000 images to sift through the edit was the toughest bit but we nailed it with the fantastic help of Tim Woods and his team at Yomp Marketing. We worked with Lydia Butler on our brand redesign. She got her head right into our business and totally grasped what we wanted to achieve. Amazing stuff from both agencies.

And 2016 has been a year of collaboration. We’ve worked with events companies, supplying photography for their many conferences and corporate events. We’ve been able to take on video work to complement our photography by working with a number of videographers. To get through the increased work load we’ve also employed the talents of other photographers to help us get the shots we need. These collaborations have enabled us to say ‘yes’ to clients so that we’ve developed and grown throughout the year. Collaboration for growth has really been true for our business.

We’ve worked really hard this year but it’s truly been worth it. We’ve been in business for over 13 years and that’s something we’re incredibly proud of. But what makes us prouder is the fact that many of our clients have been with us since the very beginning. To give mention to all of the businesses we’ve worked with this year would be far too boring so we just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone. From our long standing clients, such as L’Oreal and Moet Hennessey through to new clients like Edelman PR and Space NK. Thank you all. Your business is, as always, greatly appreciated. Working with such amazing businesses and brands, working with market leaders and creative powerhouses really does have an impact on our business. You inspire us, motivate us and give us confidence in our work. So for that, thank you.

We started out saying that 2016 hasn’t been wonderful and it hasn’t been a year many people would be proud of. However, when it comes the review of our business year, we are incredibly proud. It’s our style to keep moving so we’re looking forward to new growth and new developments in 2017. We’re taking time off over the Christmas holidays and we hope you get to enjoy some time away from your work this holiday season too. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the New Year.

Jon & Rachel.
